Moanalua Gardens

This is not the original picture I took. The original picture had people
walking around and buildings on the background which distracted the eye.
I decided to edit all the people and buildings out to give the three the
attention it deserves. In case you can't tell, this tree is huge, if I
stood in front of it's trunk I wouldn't be able to cover a third of it,
and I'm fat. :)

Foster Botanical Garden

Like I mentioned before, I love nature. I find it amazing that there are
so many forms of life and how fragile all of it is. This place was very
peaceful considering that it's right next to the freeway. I plan to go
back and take many more pictures, and hopefully I'll be better at taking
them next time.

Waikiki Beach

I took a walk around Waikiki to see what had changed since I left and
found that there weren't as many tourist walking around and a few
businesses had gone under. But I also saw some new stores that had
popped up and some buildings that were being upgraded. Something that
didn't change much was the amount of people in the water, and it didn't
help that it was high tide.

Sandy Beach

I took these during an extra credit assignment. It was a beach
exploration and clean up, it was very informative and beautiful.

A Random Kid

I've noticed that I like taking pictures of nature more than of people,
but once in a while I try my luck with people. Kids make a great subject
for pictures because they never freeze when you point a camera at them
and they always manage to capture your attention.

Makua Valley

These are some shots that I took while exploring and learning about
Makua Valley. Unfortunately when I was active duty Army I was dropping
81mm mortar rounds into this valley ignorant of how sacred it is to the
Hawaiian people. Looking at how beautiful it is, I can understand why.

Early Bird

I got lucky with this one, I happened to have my telephoto lens on the
camera and got this close before the bird flew away. Now I know why bird
watchers enjoy taking their pictures... cause they are hard to get.

Tantulus

I woke up early in the morning to drive up to Tantulus and get the
sunrise but when I got there I realized that the sun came up on the
other side of the mountains and I would have to wait a lot longer to
take a picture of it so I settled for this view. It's a nice view but I
wanted Diamond head more to the left but if I did that I would get a
little of the dirty wall in front of me.

Manoa Falls 2

My wife took this picture and it turned out to be one of my favorites
from the day. I think she might be a natural.

Breath taking isn't it? (P.S. That's not me)

Lili'uokalani Botanical Garden 2

Nice view, even for downtown Honolulu (Density = 1,600 people per square
kilometer)
